A3: Advancing PUE through inter-ministerial collaboration and unified policy action
Effective coordination is crucial for integrating energy into key sectors such as agriculture, the environment, and industry. It minimises duplication of efforts and promotes cohesive stakeholder engagement. For instance, aligning energy with agriculture can significantly enhance food security, create jobs, boost productivity, and stimulate energy demand. The adoption of Productive Use of Energy (PUE) has significant potential to advance the energy access agenda by improving economic outcomes for customers. Given that PUE intersects multiple sectors, increased collaboration is necessary to raise awareness, ensure efficient resource utilisation, and drive uptake. Strengthening inter-ministerial coordination is vital for enhancing productivity through PUE, particularly in critical areas like water, industry, agriculture, and the environment. Improved coordination among ministries will enable PUE to drive sustainable development and enhance economic outcomes in underserved regions.
