A9: Taking the credit: unlocking the DRE carbon finance opportunity

Although the off-grid industry is creating valuable carbon reductions via the displacement of kerosene, petrol and diesel, it faces several barriers to accessing carbon finance. In addition, DRE is often overlooked in governments’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Yet, there is significant momentum behind efforts to streamline and increase carbon finance flows, with active new initiatives ongoing. This interactive session will seek inputs into the challenges and opportunities for increasing carbon finance into the sector, and share insights on current and upcoming activities.
